Physiotherapy
Treatments
The Physiotherapist’s assessment, including
discussion of relevant history and objective examination,
will assist in identifying a comprehensive problem
list. These concerns will be different for everyone,
but could include:
-
Swelling
-
Pain
-
Stiffness
-
Weakness
-
Poor stability or balance
-
Difficulty participating fully in a sport
-
Difficulty walking or moving
-
Upcoming surgery requiring pre-op strengthening
From
this individualized list, the Physiotherapist
will work with the client to identify realistic
and achievable goals. For example:
-
Short-term goals: decreasing pain and swelling;
increasing movement
-
Medium-term goals: increase strength and balance
-
Long-term goals: return to playing a sport;
return to work; restore or maintain independence
at home; better post-surgical outcomes
